Am I A Child Of God?

 • Roy Maxwell

(Genesis 1:27) So God created humankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.  (Psalm 139:13) For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  (Jeremiah 1:5) Before I formed you in the womb I knew you… 1. MENTALLY, WE CAN REASON AND CHOOSE. 2. MORALITY, WE HAVE A SENSE OF SPIRITUAL MORALITY. 3. SOCIALLY, WE ARE CREATED FOR FELLOWSHIP. (Genesis 2:18) The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”  4. PHYSICAL, OUT GOD GIVEN IMAGE CAN BE DAMAGED BY OUR ACTIONS. (Romans 5:12) Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned— (1 John 3:11-13, 15) For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. IF I AM NOT A CHILD OF GOD, THEN I AM A CHILD OF THE _____. (Genesis 4:2-7) Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” (John 8:39) You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (Matthew 5:21-22) “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment.” (Genesis 4:6-7) If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it. (John 1:12-13) Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
