Overflowing: Miracles of Provision
• Jerry Roames • Series: I've Witnessed It
(Psalm 77:13-14) What god is as great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. (John 14:12-14) Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (1 John 1:1-3) That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life… We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. PROSPER: TSÄ·LAKH' TO PUSH FORWARD (Genesis 26:12-13) Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous. (Proverbs 11:10) When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy. (Proverbs 11:25) A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. (3 John 1:2) Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. BIBLICAL PROSPERITY: HAVING MORE THAN YOU NEED SO YOU CAN MAKE AN ETERNAL DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF OTHERS. *GOD BLESSES US TO BE A BLESSING.* (Galatians 3:13-14) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. (Genesis 12:2) “I will bless you…and you will be a blessing to others.” GOD WANTS TO BE OUR PROVIDER. JEHOVAH- JIREH (Philippians 4:19) And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Luke 18:29-30) “I guarantee this. Anyone who gives up anything for the kingdom of God will certainly receive many times more in this life and will receive eternal life in the next world to come.” (Proverbs 18:11) The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it a wall too high to scale. I WILL NOT TRUST IN RICHES BUT IN HIM WHO RICHLY PROVIDES. (Psalm 1:1-3) Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers. *EVERY PROMISE HAS A PREMISE.* 1. PUT GOD FIRST. (Proverbs 3:9-10) Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. 2. MAINTAIN MY INTEGRITY. (Luke 16:10-11) “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” 3. GIVE INTENTIONALLY AND GENEROUSLY. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7) Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God lovesa cheerful giver.
